neck straps — vertical— lug mount &
 tripod-mount

Cameras not included with neck straps.

I only know of two manufacturers that provided for hanging the camera vertically — Leica and Voigtlander. The Leica M5 and CL had an extra lug on the rewind side. The Voigtlander trigger winder for the Bessa series has two lugs for hanging the camera vertically on the film advance side. My vertical neck strap attaches to one lug, with an included 1/2" split ring, and the tripod mount, with my tripod attachment, which lets the camera hang vertically from either side. The tripod attachment is the same as with the tripod mount wrist strap. I personally prefer the vertical hang.

The tripod-mount screws used are the same as on the tripod-mount wrist straps: nickel plated brass thumb screw, black thumb screw and low profile screw. The thumb screws are tightened with your fingers. The low profile screw can be tightened with a coin (coin not provided.) Vertical mounted neck straps with the black thumb screw and low profile screw are US$32. Vertical mounted neck straps with the nickel plated brass thumb screw are US$41. Prices include worldwide shipping.

  Colors

Your choice of 1/4" wide natural, russet, or dark brown, or black leather with white, gray, black, red, green, blue, yellow, light brown, brown, and dark brown .040" (1mm) diameter waxed heavy-duty thread. Check out the Colors page.

  Neck Pads

My neck straps will support pretty heavy loads but sometimes our necks won't. The straps work fine for lighter cameras but, for those heavier cameras, I have neck pads. These pads are 1" wide and 8 3/4" long for good support. The edges are beveled. They are the same leather as the straps and are available in the same colors. If you want a neck pad, it must be ordered with the strap. Neck pads are an additional US$13. See the Neck Pad page.

  Strap Bumpers

Strap bumpers are an additional US$1 for the O-ring Strap Bumper and US$4 for the Octagonal and Integral Strap Bumpers. I think that, because of the range of motion of a vertical neck strap, the Octagonal Strap Bumper or the O-ring Strap Bumper would be the best choice. See the Strap bumper page for more information.

  Figuring out the length

Neck straps are not adjustable so specify the length desired. I made my own 45 inches long. You could get two for those times you are shooting with two lenses — one strap shorter than the other. I will need the length of the strap you want measured from end to end. Centimeters or inches will work. Just let me know the unit of measure.
